Who is Carol Turner?

Forgive my possible ignorance but who is/was Carol Turner and what was the
text of this cryptic note?
BTW It's a great calander chock full of goodies...

he talks about it in the Time-Life book Cactus Country on p. 75-76 which he did the text for. I can't find anything on whether she was ever found.

did the text for. I can't find anything on whether she was ever found.

Carol Turner, 32, arrived at Organ Pipe Cactus NM on January 31, 1971. She was either a graduate or PHD student from the University of NM in Albuquerque. She stayed in the main visitor campground on the nights of Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 & 2. During the days prior to her disappearance she went on a naturalist walk at Dripping Springs and spoke with a ranger and asked for hiking suggestions. On either the 1st or 2nd she hiked up to Bull Pasture in the Ajo Mountains. She returned for another go to Bull Pasture on the 3rd. On the 4th a Park Ranger saw her car in the Bull Pasture trail parking lot with a note on the windshield saying something to the effect that if the car was still there on the 4th that a park ranger should be contacted and that she was a solo hiker. She left messages in the trail registers at the trail head and up in Bull Pasture. One said something like, "If you see a yellow windbreaker, wave to say hello". Another more odd entry was, "I brought the beer, where were you". Please note I'm paraphrasing as it's been some time, but the gist is correct. The search was the largest and probably still is in the monuments history. As well as the Monument, several state and tribal agencies and volunteers assisted over a two week period to find her. Aircraft was used as was rock climbers to examine difficult terrain. They found nothing. Maybe 8-10 days in a ranger caught a scent that he recognized from past experiences. This was confirmed by others. The search was intensived in that region without success. It's been 46 years since Carol Turner vanished in the Ajo Mountains. Although her mother felt that she may had been abducted there was never any evidence to support this. Older staff, now retired, recalled Ed Abbey visiting the monument and pulling the Turner file from the archives where he read through it in a couple hours.
