A man died while mountainbiking on farmland near the Snow Farm
skifield in the Cardrona Valley around 2.30pm this afternoon.
A Wanaka police spokeswoman confirmed the man had died but could not
not yet release the cause of death.
Spokesman for farm owner Sam Lee said the man was a member of a group
that had sought permission to mountainbike on his family's farmland.
He believed the incident was not caused by a crash or collision while
the man had been biking.
